The Road to Qatar: An unusual Winter spectacle

The end of 2023 is looking lucrative for European, and newly regulated US states, when we see the launch of the FIFA World Cup. Although operators have had years’ to plan, what impact is this to have on their usual domestic schedule – will we see a subsequent knock-on effect benefit or loss in domestic betting turnover?

Does the new precedent mean there will need to be a new requirement to engage with customers with alternative products and will operators need to adjust strategies in marketing – how early will this need to be started and what new innovations can we expect to see to maximise engagement?

The objective of this Marketing InFocus track is to stop for a moment, zoom out of the performance marketing box and look at the bigger picture. As an industry, we are often consumed by daily execution, keeping up with regulatory changes and it’s easy to lose sight of the long-term vision. Where are we now? Where are we heading? How do we get there? This track is built with CMO’s and Senior Marketers in mind and structured like a proper marketing plan; we start with market orientation and customer insights, then use those insights to define our strategy, which then again informs our tactical layer and execution. In addition to being inspired from a host of top-notch Brand and Marketing thought-leaders, come and network with your Marketing peers, make some new connections and talk as much nerdy Marketing stuff as your heart desires

Market Orientation and Customer Insights: How to pinpoint where to allocate spend for biggest impact short and long-term.

Too many in iGaming spend their days completely zoomed in on the performance marketing box, as if that was all there is to marketing. Spoiler alert, it’s not. Before tactics, comes strategy. Before Strategy comes Market Orientation and identifying key customer insights, upon which a strategy can be built and tactics executed. This session is all about zooming out, having a clear map of the battlefield and only then deploying resources for maximum impact – but how do we get there and what are today’s best practices?

Brand vs Commodities – How to make brand investment make sense?

Branding is a cost with little immediate return”. A sentiment we often hear and one that has more often than not, been difficult to reverse. Is it the Marketer’s fault we haven’t defined brand properly and communicated its virtues or is short-term gain just an ingrained and immovable focus of our industry? Why it it that other industries can invest in brand as well as short term measures but we can’t? We know the 60/40 investment rule but how do we get even remotely close to it? How do we prove direct business impact from brand investment? Can “fluff” be turned to “fuel” in our industry?
